EDEN-HC: Why do you think people still use conventional cleaning products rather than ecological ones even though green cleaning has been around for decades?

ECOVER: Probably because people have a strong relationship with the products they use. Many people use the same stuff their mom used and that's a big part of WHY they use it! Also, there is a big misconception that ecological cleaning products cost more and/or don't work. All that is changing now. People are seeing ecological cleaning products in their trusted magazines and television shows, and they see that they can be both effective and affordable! The more this continues, the more people will expect their cleaning products to do more than just clean.

EDEN-HC: Are your products more expensive than the conventional cleaning products?

ECOVER: In general, our products are competitively priced. Some of them are more expensive than "regular" products. But one must also take into consideration that we use pioneering plant and mineral based ingredients that tend to cost more. Also, and this is a big ALSO, as the market continues to grow, and people expect more and more ecological options, the more the costs of these types of ingredients will decrease.

EDEN-HC: How come stores carry only certain products of yours and not more, and how can we get more stores to carry them?

ECOVER: Many times, a store carries only certain Ecover items, because they simply don't have room on their shelves for more brands. Sometimes it's as simple as asking the grocery manager in your store to carry it! You would be surprised at how willing they are to oblige their customers. If there is something you know about that your store doesn't carry, try asking your grocery manager to stock it for you!
